Frequently Asked Questions

Let's answer some of your auto glass repair or replacement questions.

  • Does a windshield repair really stop the break from spreading?

Yes! If done correctly with quality tools and resin a repair will last a lifetime.

  • How long does it take to repair a windshield?

Depending on the break, 15 to 25 minutes.

  • Will you offer me cash back for my windshield like other companies?

We do not offer cash back, because we don't inflate the bills to your insurance company.

  • Will my rates go up for a windshield replacement?

That depends on your insurance, your driving history and the shop you use.

  • How long does it take to replace the windshield?

Average time is one hour, plus. Here at Superior we use a DOW 30 minute safe drive away urethane.

  • Will you replace my windshield in my driveway or parking lot at work?

Chances are no because of all the safety systems attached to your windshield that are electronic and sensitive. A controlled environment is safer for those systems and most will need to be re-calibrated. A Static Calibration can only be correctly done in a controlled environment.

  • Can you file the windshield claim with my insurance for me?

That depends on your insurance company. Some we can and others require the insured to report it.

  • Is there a difference in aftermarket glass?

Glass is like any other product and produced by many. We at Superior try very hard to avoid Chinese glass and try to purchase from our distributors who are OE for your vehicle. If your insurance policy allows for dealer glass than that’s what we will install.

  • Can you replace the windshield and recalibrate it?

Yes we can! We have the proper equipment and are certified for calibrations.

  • Why does my car have to be recalibrated after a windshield replacement?

There are cameras attached to the windshield that read the objects ahead. Once a windshield is replaced the camera is not sitting in the same position as it did on the old windshield. In order for it to correctly detect the objects at the correct distance it needs to be recalibrated.

  • Can I wait while you replace my windshield or do I need to drop it off?

Yes! We have a waiting area with internet access.

  • Do you offer a warranty?

Yes, we are so confident in our workmanship we offer a lifetime warranty against leakage and wind noise.
